Have you seen everyone talking about resistance bands and are confused about what they are? Before I started my fitness journey I was always wondering the same! But since I started using them, my workout has gone to a whole new level and are now part of my daily workout. 
Here’s a few FAQs which will help keep you informed: 
 
What are they? 
Thick rubber or elastic bands, usually in a circular shape, which come in varying strengths (5lb, 10lb & 15lbs). The strengths are represented by different colors. They add resistance, or tension, to work against. 
 
How do I use them?
Target the muscle group you want to work, placing the bands round your thighs for any glute exercises, side stepping squats, any sort of leg raising exercises. You can also use them for your arms and back too. 
 
What can I use them for?
I recommend using them for general exercise, stretching, strength training, power weight programmes. You can use them as part of any work out to take it to the next level. 
 
What will they do?
The resistance band forced stronger muscular contraction to build the strength, anaerobic endurance and size of skeletal muscles. 
 
Can they build muscle?
Yes, you can absolutely build muscle with resistance bands. All your muscles need to grow is tension, adequate recovery, and muscle adaptation & progressive overload. Building muscle can be achieved with bodyweight-only exercises, so resistance bands will only increase your capacity for muscle growth.
