Thanksgiving is coming, and there’s always a healthier way. Just being mindful of 1% better and a few health tips can I help you and your family stay health. Through the holiday season Americans gain 2 to 5 pounds each year and usually do not lose it. Add this to the reality of many gaining over lockdown of COVID and its a double whammy. This Thanksgiving keep in mind five healthy tips.
1 Start the day with the mantra, “just a taste” every time you scoop food to your plate or take a slice, thing to yourself just a taste. There’s no reason not to have a little, but just a taste will allow you to try without getting stuffed.
2. Bring a dish/Make a health dish Make a favorite healthy dish that you like, for your Thanksgiving table. If you’re visiting bring a dish that you know will be your main course, or a healthy treat
3. Intermittent fast till dinner, save yourself to the Main event. Even on weekends when I know I’m out to my favorite restaurant I hold off for the day and intermittent fast.
4. Get active, plan a game outdoors. This Thanksgiving we should all be outdoors, and being more active outside will keep us away from seconds and thirds of dessert.
5. Out of Sight: Position yourself away from the Buffet table, or move the snack bowl from in front of you. Set yourself in your area up for success. This will reduce mindless eating
