Dieting vs. Lifestyle: What?s the Difference? Diet is a temporary fix, that you need to restrict yourself in hopes to lose calories. Diets are planned programs that tell you what to do to lose weight. A diet often feels like a punishment at times uncomfortable and unpleasant. On a diet food becomes a temptation and if you eat the wrong foods you failed. Food is off limits only temporarily and when you are off the diet, people often go back to old eating habits and gain the weight right back.

Lifestyle A lifestyle is a permanent change that is for life. You make the changes and find alternatives that you adapt your life and behavior. Instead of restricting yourself we look for healthier alternatives. You will create new healthy habits and routines that are comfortable for you. Instead of the common phrase, ” I cant eat that I am on a diet” you will said, How can I change that to get closer to your fitness goals.

Why I choose a Healthy Lifestyle instead of Dieting? Tired of all the diets out there I tried, when I had my “moment” i figured Id start at the basics, and try to understand food. It was a processes, everything I ate I researched to see what the pros and cons of each food. If the food was known to make people sick or fat, I did not eat it. Sugar I learned was a toxin that is causing people to get sick. Any reading on wheat and processed food pointed to disease, illness and obesity. So I reduced wheat, sugar and processed food and I started to lose pounds.
