Do You Know What: Organic, Non GMO & Gluten Free Really Means?

I talk a lot about Organic, Gluten Free and non- GMO foods all the time. But do you actually know what I mean? I’ve outlined them below, get educated so you can understand what you are putting into your body. This is what I did when I started my health journey:


What does “organicmean? The term “organic” refers to the way agricultural products are grown and processed. In the U.S., organic crops must be grown without the use of synthetic herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers, or bioengineered genes (GMOs).

Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) can be defined as organisms) in which the genetic material (DNA) has been altered in a way that does not occur naturally by mating and/or natural recombination. ... Foods produced from or using GM organisms are often referred to as GM foods.

A gluten-free diet is a diet that strictly excludes gluten, proteins present in wheat (and all wheat varieties such as spelt and kamut), barley, rye, oat, and derivatives of these grains such as malt and triticale, and foods that may include them, or shared transportation or processing facilities with them.
