Eliminate the 4 Food for Food Cravings Before Fasting and Tips

Wheat, Sugar, Potato & Rice

One of the first steps to intermittent fasting and cleaner eating is eliminating or limiting wheat, sugar, potato and rice, often bleached, processed, enriched and stripped of nutrition. Unless labels organic and non GMO you can assume that it is made from a genetically modified seed and is known to make our fat cells fatter? No thanks!

To get beyond the cycle of food cravings, I typically recommend to clients and friends who want to lose weight that they completely avoid bread, rice, pasta and potatoes for two weeks. Craving will subside and you can intermittent fast and be in better control of your food choices.

HERE ARE SOME TIPS
Some tips are gadgets or finding alternatives, some tips are changing your mindset
to reduce or eliminate bread, sugar, potato & rice to make Intermittent Fasting easy

WRAP IT IN LETTUCE

Tacos, deli meat, tuna anything you would put on a sandwich I wrap it in a large piece of romaine lettuce. There are some restaurants that offer is in a lettuce wrap as alternatives


DOUBLE IT UP

IF you have to have bread double up the sandwich and use half the bread. Try to use a organic and non GMO at least there is some nutrition in it

LEAVE IT ON YOUR PLATE

Just like my theory just a taste will satisfy me, it applies here.? Make a conscious effort to leave a percentage of bread or sugar on your plate. I understand this is waste but if you do not waste the bad stuff it will appear on your waist.


WATER DOWN

Be sure to water down fruit juice or just add a splash of fruit juice to drink. Best would be to skip it completely and drink water. The wasted calories and spikes in sugar levels are unhealthy and will not allow you to loss

INVEST IN A SPIRALIZER

Find alternatives to pasta, make spiral veggies. A Spiralizer will cut vegetables into thin, noodle-like shapes, so you can literally just fool your brain into thinking the thin strands of zucchini you?re eating are actually delicious spaghetti.

INVEST IN SODA STREAM


One of my favorite machines in the house is my Soda Stream, reduces recycling cans and shopping . I drink either water, seltzer water or coffee throughout the day, and this machine has definitely made me drink more water

Many Names of Sugar

IF you plan to eat packaged food be sure that the first 5 ingredients aren’t flour or sugar. There are the many names for sugar and flour on packaging so read carefully. Sugar on packages anhydrous dextrose, brown sugar, confectioner’s powdered sugar, corn syrup, corn syrup solids, dextrose, fructose, high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) Flour on packaging: Enriched, hydrogenated, modified
