Our bodies expect hungry, think back to hunters and gathers, they didn’t eat 4 meals a day, they lived off land and some days they went hungry. Our bodies are meant to fast, giving our body a break to recover and regulate correctly. Some benefits is weight lose, increase energy, lowers bad cholesterol, improves memory and boosts brain function, Reduces insulin resistance and protects against type 2 diabetes.

When we intermittent fast, our body goes into Ketosis is a natural state of the metabolic process. When a person has reached ketosis, their body is burning STORED FAT instead of glucose. When I started to fast and add that to clean eating and working out I drop 2-3 lbs a week easily. Continuing to fast I have leaned up like never before.

Been fasting for years, recently found ketone strips, so i bought then and tested myself for a few days. Started testing myself around 12 hours and went to 18 hours fasting and testing. Here are the results.

12 hours: I stopped eating at 8 pm the night before and tested myself 8 am the next morning to get a starting point. I was negative

16 hours: I started to go into ketosis, more often then not I eat after 16 hours but i believe from this result it is not optimal.

17 hours: Was my optimal time to go into ketosis, and use the fat on my body. You should consider testing yours for best results.

18 hours: was high on the scale of optimal, so from these results I’d assume my peak time is between 17-18 hours
