I took a walk the other day through my neighborhood, my goal for March was to add 15 mins walk, run, sprinting daily for the Spartan Race, not likely to happen in April but keeping it up for my health, head and the next Spartan Race. Recovering from being sick i did make it 9 out of 12 days so far. Been to different parts and local beach walked by myself listening to a book, white noise or music.

Yesterday I walked around my neighborhood, into a little park and found myself laying in the grass in my winter parka, music in my ears, sun on my face, conscious of my breathe. For a moment I felt like I was 5 again.

Self Care to Keep Your Mind and Immunity at Peak Performance

Fill my Head 1% Better:

I listen to Audibles, Books to Better Myself. Sometimes I listen to them over and over in a week in the car out shopping, folding laundry. I listen to white noise (pink & brown) when i need to focus and want to concentrate helped me study for my certification.? I listen to music in my ears while stretching, working out and cooking.

Meditation:

I started with 3 mins, would lay on my beanbag chair try to re focus until I realized I am training my mind by working on it. Now I am up to 20 mins and this week I am adding it at night and mid day if I want. I have been napping while recuperating falling asleep to meditation has been helpful

Eat Better:

Food Is Medicine and what we eat is fuel or will make us sick. Right before I got sick I slipped up and went to comfort food, staying away from sugar and wheat have definitely helped with inflammation. I need to gain some weight now so I am trying to eat more fresh fruits and veggies and less processed food. Adding a plant based lifestyle has added to my health, head fog and hormones.

MOVE:

Start by stretching daily then add exercise you like. Get outside, dance or find your workout, your zone. We are meant to move as we age NOT stop moving. I am in a bunch or 40+ fitness groups, everyone starts somewhere.

Intermittent Fast:

Allowing your body to not have to work constantly you have more energy and feel better. Intermittent fasting has helped reduce stress and gives your body a chance to recharge and heal
