Stretch and Massage Yourself Out Of Pain: What I Do to Battle Age

Last Years New Years Resolution
Last Years New Years Resolution was to “find ways out of pain.” I was battling with back and shoulder pain, which depressed me, restricted me from working out and struggled through my day. I decided to research what I could do to feel better and found stretching was key.

As We Age…..
As we age we need to move more not less. Common pains as we age are Lower Back, Headaches, Osteoarthritis, Pelvis, carpal Tunnel .?The many years of tripping, falling, multiple car accidents, and just plain wear and tear on our bodies catches up with us we age. Stretching and body massage rolling? became an integral part of my routine. 10 mins in the morning and 10 mins at night, to stretch and move your muscles and body. That’s 20 mins for your to start and end your day relaxed and ready.

Find Your Style
I use the Rumbleroller, but everyone needs to find their style. There are different types of body rollers, some more aggressive then others.? I like the body roller to “dig in” to specific muscles. There are smooth body rollers also that will give you a more general overall massage. You will need to experiment what type you are more comfortable with. I found them for the most part cheap on Amazon.
So if you are looking to start this new year with some new healhy lifestyle goals consider stretching and using a body massage roller. Here are some tips I have found that have helped me.

Helpful Tips for Stretching and Body Massage
Find a Spot: Find a spot in your bedroom or a favorite place that you will be reminded to use it.
Make Time: Wake up earlier or set an alarm on your phone, start making time for you!
Start with 10: Start with at least 10 mins, give yourself the time to feel the benefits throughout the day
Start with Your Trouble Spots: Go right to your most pain, stretch and roll those areas our first,
