Standing in the grocery store a while back reading the ingredients I read that the shredded cheese had an additional ingredient called cellulose powder so the cheese doesn't stick. After doing research on what cellulose powder is I'd rather grate my own cheese and save my money

What is Cellulose powder?
Powdered cellulose is made by cooking raw plant fiber—usually wood—in various chemicals to separate the cellulose, and then purified. ... Insoluble dietary fibers like cellulose aren't digestible by humans so add bulk to food without making it more fattening.

What Else is Cellulose powder used for
Cellulose is used to make clothes and paper.

Where else can you find cellulose in food.
Basically to make anything thick and fill up the packaging. It's used in yogurts, ice cream, shakes and protein shakes
