Annually the EWG compiles a list of the fruits and vegetables which are most and least contaminated with pesticide residues. They call this list the Dirty Dozen Clean 15.

This year, 2021, the EWG & US Department of Agriculture (USDA) found that nearly 70% of all the non-organic fresh produce sold in the US had potentially harmful chemical pesticides on them.

The advice is “We urge consumers who are concerned about their pesticide intake to consider, when possible, purchasing organically grown versions of the foods on EWG’s Dirty Dozen, or conventional produce from our Clean Fifteen.”

Food is good medicine, it will either cure you or make you sick. Fruits and vegetables are an essential part of a healthy diet, so why risk eating produce with harmful chemicals when for a few cents more you can eat organic?
