Minimalism and decluttering has been one of my recent focusses. I feel lighter already- if that’s even possible. I really related to the idea of having less possessions gives us more time to focus on what’s important.

It’s really a balance of Quality vs Quantity. In reality we only use 20% of our belongings, but store 80%! Why? Since moving house I have been able to eliminate lots of items which I was keeping unnecessarily, but I still want to take it further.
Each day I go into a room and focus my attention on one area; a closet, draw, worksurface and spend 5-10 organising, clearing and reducing unused items.
I leave a basket or container in the corner of the room with the items I can’t decide about and come back to them in a few days. Then I can more objectively decide, to keep, throw out or donate the item.

Have you tried this technique? What worked for you?
