How hard do I need to exercise? It’s something I get asked a

lot. When I start working with new clients I show them a completely different way to achieve their goals. I had back, neck and shoulder injuries which meant I couldn't do cardio when I first started out. Here’s some ideas on how to get started:

  1. Start small and build momentum.

  2. Make it automatic with triggers.

  3. Reward yourself.

  4. Choose activities that make you feel happy and confident.

  5. Think outside the gym.

It’s tips Tuesday! So I’m sharing some workout tips with you today.

> Make time for yourself, commit to it and write it on the calendar. It’s not selfish to do this, it’s self preservation.

> Focus your time on low impact but high intensity workouts. By using your body weight and resistance training you will see the results just as well as cardio.

> Buy small gym equipment pieces to use at home.

> Find a workout that you enjoy, no point in going running if you hate it. Try a dance class or kickboxing!

> Get someone to hold you accountable. Have a friend work out with you or check in with you. Return the favor for them.
