Eyes swollen, looking with little emotion and numb to the world, this was New Year's Eve years back when I was 40 years old. Unhappy, unhealthy and numbing my anxiety and depression with wine I celebrate a new year of unknown, no direction or lack of goals.

I don't have many photos from this time of my life so coming across this one totally took me back to a sad moment. The slight grin on her lips can not hide the dulling of her eyes. For me this was a bottom, a moment in time, i can look back and be thankful for the work i have done on myself.
Choosing to stop the unhelpful habits of drinking, overeating, and nicotine. Instead I pushed myself to start to eat better, exercise and find healthy habits to reduce anxiety and depression. Tried everyday to change habits and create new routines.
Next month I will be 48 years old, been working on a better me since this photo and thankful to say with small changes and persistence there will be big results. Covid, a divorce and starting over again are my hurdles this year but I am thankful for the chance to dream and set goals for my financial freedom, fitness adventures and living my best life
So don't stop working on you if you don't see the results right away it takes, months, years and decades and still the journey continues. Like a snowball rolled down hill and growing in size. We are the 1% better with a compound effect. We are all a work in progress but we need to always do the work.
