Often you hear the phrase eating clean, but what actually is that? It simply involves choosing minimally processed, real foods that provide maximal nutritional benefits. The idea is to consume foods that are as close to their natural state as possible. When you combine this with Intermittent Fasting several days a week and a regular workout routine then it can really change your life. I always say a healthy lifestyle is 80% about food and 20% about working out. You have to work on both to see results.

What is Clean Eating?

It simply involves choosing minimally processed, real foods that provide maximal nutritional benefits. The idea is to consume foods that are as close to their natural state as possible.

My top tips for Eating Clean:

  1. Eat Real - Did this grow from the ground?

  2. Choose 1 - Think how many ingredients? Broccoli, quinoa, oats

  3. Eat Naked - There is no need for lots of packaging. Fresh fruit, veggies or bulk dried beans come with little to no packaging.

  4. Go Organic - Making sure you are consuming the cleanest food, free from pesticides, insecticide chemicals and hormone chemical feed.

  5. Can you Pronounce it? - Can you read the ingredients without thinking Huh?

  6. Plants First - Go for fruits, veggies and grains first. Make this a priority

  7. Give Up White Sugar - Try simple sugars like maple or honey.

  8. Cook at Home - You can choose what you put in your body. Restaurants often use a lot of sugar and processed food.
